Can you eat the skin of beets or remove the skins before roasting?

I want to eat the beets hot right out of the oven but everything I read says to roast them with the skins on, allow to cool and then remove the skins. Can you remove the skins before roasting or eat the skins after roasting? Thank you!Can you eat the skin of beets or remove the skins before roasting?
Yes you can, they are like potato skins. You should cut them off but if you want to eat them it's your preference. Can you eat the skin of beets or remove the skins before roasting?
When they are done roasting, the skins will peel right off, really easy. You don't have to wait for them to cool, but they are going to be really, really hot. So you need to wear some gloves or something so you don't burn your fingers when peeling them. But, It really is much easier to peel them after.
