What is the best shade for my skin and what do I use?

I have dry to combo skin, and a light natural tan. It is hard for me to find the right shade. Is it better to go too light, too dark, or should I use a combination foundation/concealer? I appreciate all answers. What is the best shade for my skin and what do I use?
do you need to use foundation? personally i am not fond of foundation. they smell and look disgusting. especially on a hot hot hot day.. it goes all crusty. and anyway, the more you wear it, the more it ruins your skin. if you have a light natural tan... FLAUNT IT!What is the best shade for my skin and what do I use?
Try Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals.
best to lean towards a yellow based foundation. most people are yellow tinted rather than pink. run a dab on white paper to verify the tint. other than that just put a little on your skin, let it sit for a few minutes, and see how it looks! good luck and happy 'hunting' ;)
yes for bare minerals
You can go one shade darker. Buy liquid make up and if possible make sure that you buy a ';buff'; color, like buff beige, etc. Covergirl makes it. Don't buy the combination of concealer/foundation.....buy them seperate.....it works better.
My expertise...

Mary Kay has 7 different types of foundation in all different shades that can meet the needs of any skin type. For combo skin you would want to lean torwards the medium coverage, but it also depends on your coverage preference. The trick to having a foundation that blends properly is to have own formulated to your skin, depending on how oily or dry you are. It is also important to always match it with the color of your neck and not your face. Your face gets more color and naturally is darker, so if you wear a foundation that is that color you are going to end up with the line below your chin.
