I am pretty pale naturally and have a redness maybe a blueish pink in my skin tone a little bit. I have blue eyes.

I love extreme blonde, red, and black. I like funky colors and love dying my hair.

I am getting my hair done this saturday and would love some hair color suggestions and maybe some funky hair color styles.

Thanks so much. What hair color is best for my skin tone?
just get straight platnm. Blonde, almost white on the bottom, and cherry black on the rest, and a bit more blonde peaking out in the area of your bangs, and get it curly with the black wavy, and the blonde really straight. it will look tight!!!!What hair color is best for my skin tone?
I would say either a really deep brownish black (the photo on the left)

Go with pink and black, your hot anyways. It wouldnt matter if it was neon green you would still be hot.
Redish brown would look awesome on you.
blonde and burgundy
A nice bright blonde, but not majorly bright it just looks trashy x
Black would suit
You look good...
damn honey you pretty hot, i'd say blonde.

How do you remove permanant marker from skin?

My daughter colored herself with permanant marker. Soap and water isn't working. Do I just wait it out? Won't it fade in a few days? How do you remove permanant marker from skin?
Keep soaping it, and yes, it will fade with time, more baths, etc.How do you remove permanant marker from skin?
baby oil, rubbing alcohol, or make-up remover
Nail polish remover will do the trick, but it might irritate her skin, so try a little bit first, and follow up with a good cream to stop the redness the acetone will cause.
rubbing alcohol and scrub alittle bit
Yes, it will fade. Once in chemistry class I spilled some bromide on my finger and when it dried it looked like poop. It faded in about a week.
It will fade but if you want it off sooner, try using rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) . I've done that before and it works.
it will eventually come off, proabably in a few days.....try giving her a warm, soapy bath, then use a loofah and gently scrub where she colored herself
TRY A SPRITZ OF HAIRSPRAY AND GENTLY RUB--- WORKS MIRACLES.
Paint thinner.
The easiest and quickest way to remove permanent ink from skin is with a spray on, mist-style sunscreen. Just spray it on the spot to be removed and then take a dry cloth or paper towel and wipe it away. If it is not removed completely the first time, repeat and all will be well.
yes it'll fade. but also, you can go get some axe body spray. i went to military school where we had to label everything with permanent marker. when a label was faded, we'd re-label it. first we'd use the axe body spray to take of the old permanent marker. kinda scary that dudes put that stuff on, on a daily basis.
Don't worry- it will come off. try rubbing alcohol, and if that doesn't work, more soap and water. and don't worry, it WILL fade eventually.
just keep washing hand with soap and water throughly

I would call the vet. Some products made for people are dangerous for animals...especially around the eyes!! My vet gave me some cream one time for my beardie when he lost a claw and it was bleeding. It only cost $9.99 and there was no need for a vet visit!! I would just say better safe than sorry when dealing with her vision.
Try olive oil or mineral oil, always go natural. What does the Vet say?

Try ';Goo Gone'; or ';Goof Off';. They get anything off almost anything.
wash repeatedly and time will take care of it.
oh geez.....time heals all wounds....in your cuticles will take a 3 or 4 days tho
just wait until the next day or wash it with HOT and soapy water about for a min. and a half it will get off

What is a good tanning lotion for skin that gets blotchy and itchy after tanning?

I've been tanning for a few weeks now and when I'm in the bed I feel like I get little pricks all over my body. When it's over I itch like crazy after. I haven't been putting on any special tanning lotion, just regular body lotion after. I was hoping someone would have some suggestions as to what I can do to make the pricks and itching stop. What is a good tanning lotion for skin that gets blotchy and itchy after tanning?
change to a pure lotion if you are usings a bronzer and make sure you moisturize with regular lotion maybe use a step 3 lotion if they have one at your tanning salon it is regular moisturizing lotion for everday use tanning will dry your skin and so will using a bronzer lotion but just sure you moisturize everyday and you will be ok!!What is a good tanning lotion for skin that gets blotchy and itchy after tanning?
I can almost guarantee you that you are allergic to the sanitizer your salon is using to clean the bed. It may be the ingredients, or they may just not be properly diluting the concentrate. TRY THIS: buy a bottle of rubbing alcohol for a buck, bring a cloth with you to the salon and pour some of the rubbing alcohol on the cloth. Wipe down the acrylic with it before you get in and see what happens.

ALSO: You may have overly sensitive skin. Use a basic accelerator without Hemp Seed Oil.

Why do so many skin specialist feel that mineral oil is terrible for the skin on your face?

I've often heard that facial moisturizers that contain mineral oil are terrible for the skin on your face, why is that? Why do so many skin specialist feel that mineral oil is terrible for the skin on your face?
Mineral oil is bad for any part of your skin. Don't use baby oil, Chapstick or anything that contains mineral oil or petroleum jelly. The reasons are many including clogging pores, being carcinogenic, and being acidic. Think about this: its a by-product of when crude oil (sucked up from the ground) is processed. It's gross. You don't want this on your skin, on your lips, near your eyes, or people even drink it as a laxative-- yuck.

There is much debate about mineral oil, but for me it comes down to basically putting motor oil on your body. If you're not sold on the harmful medical benefits, just think that you are contributing to the world's dependence on oil.Why do so many skin specialist feel that mineral oil is terrible for the skin on your face?
i was told that it clogs pores HORRIBLY and makes it harder for any acne medication to actually get down to the area in the pore that has all the bacteria and nasties that cause pimples

thats what my dermatologist told me when i had a random and severe breakout... she said my lotion contained mineral oil and that it had blocked my pores =(
Mineral oils aren't water soluble. They just sit on top of your skin and clog your pores, leading to acne or inflammation.

Anyone have ideas? Im just looking for somthing that can keep my face pimple free! What facewash is good to keep your skin healthy?
Washing your face everyday is nessesary to remain blemish free. Neutrogena ';Deep Clean Facial Cleanser'; works very well. You can find it a the drug store (its in a pump bottle and is orange)What facewash is good to keep your skin healthy?

Why some people mock others for their skin color or religion?

Some people think that being white makes them superior, while none of us had this chance to choose our skin color before birth.Or we're all free to choose a religion, and divine religions are same in rudimentary issues,so why some people criticize others for these things? While we are all human, and the humanity is the same. Why some people mock others for their skin color or religion?
Intolerance, by tradition. When parents are intolerant, chances are, that their children will be as well. Why some people mock others for their skin color or religion?
I think it is inconsistent to put these two things together like this. Skin colour is a simple trait of your genetics and mockery based on it is ridiculous intolerance. People do it because we instinctively fear the unknown/unfamiliar, and some people are too narrow minded to see past that first instinctive prejudice.

Religion, on the other hand, is, at least ostensibly, a free choice made by people, and where people make conflicting choices, there is bound to be tension, since each individual believes that he is right. While it is terrible that this so often leads to conflict, it is expected, and I venture correct, that it leads to debate.
    Those people are intolerant.

However, when some people start proselytizing their religion on others, without providing the necessary evidence to support their claims, and expecting others to believe, they deserve to be mocked. It is not intolerant to mock them in this situation.
    Never mind the race issue.

Someone else has mentioned that it's because of a fear of the unknown. I concur.

Religion:Because people are often either bad or dumb. And the bad people are often so clever. They know the uses of sincere, innocent faith, on either side. And the fact that the best of the good people also know this complicates matters even further.

Religious intolerance is incompatible with a successful future for all of us, I always feel.
The bible tells us that there are none that are good in this world.

That is why God sent his Son into the world.

Yet, I believe there are people who desire righteousness and seek to do so.

And just as there is those who have righteousness in their hearts, there are those who have unrighteousness in their hearts. There are people in this world who know only that which is evil. They love to do evil things.

I once watched a show where this teenage girl was being interviewed for killing another girl. The interviewer asked her why she did it. Her response was startling. She said she wanted to see what it looked like to watch someone die.

The chilling coldness in her response and the darkness in her eyes showing no remorse what so ever, make me doubt there was any good in this girl at all.

The reason God flooded the earth was because man had become so evil that his every thought was evil.

Men today are moving closer and closer to that reality. Evil is encompassing the world. So don't be alarmed by the evilness of men. I suggest you prepare yourselve by putting on the full armor of God.
It's basic Human Nature. We all get put down and made fun of when little. Criticized and complained about into adulthood. And many try to compensate for the bad feelings they have about themselves, because of that, by making others look bad. Of course it doesn't work. Since the spirit in us knows we all have a spirit in us. And when we behave toward others in this way. It only makes us feel worse.
people do that sometimes just to amuse themselves.

some don't mean anything by it, while others are plain *** holes.

you're right that we are all human, but all humans are not the same.

you have to keep in mind that we all have different upbringings and perspectives on things.
i dislike all religion equally for this point, its breeds ignorance and intolerance....... differenet skin colour is only interesting if you dont have the same accent as my own, then i might be interested in the different culture, always positively though
Insecurity about themselves mostly. They need to put others down to feel better about themselves...

This manifests itself as bigotry, intolerance, and stereotyping among others..

    Happy New Years
People that have little confidence and self esteem will mock others that are different than they because that difference makes them second guess themselves. So they try to regain a feeling of superiority by knocking down others.
Because they are narrow-minded individuals who believe that their race/ethnicity is better than other people's and they don't like people believing in things they don't understand or believe in themselves.
You do choose your religion, you can't choose your skin color.

Stop shirking your responsibility. You don't get to say you can't help what you believe.
It's a way of projecting our unconscious guilt onto others. This way, the guilt no longer appears to be in our mind, but rather on their body.
    ignorance pure ignorance
They are afraid of people/things they don't understand.
I don't mock other people for there skin colour or religion
I don't mock anyone and humans are evil
Because it's funny... and people like you need to lighten up... n'est-ce pas?

How can I soothe my super dry skin that is getting eczema?

I always put lotion on as soon as I get out of the shower, but I still have really dry, itchy skin and patches of eczema.

Do you have any suggestions? How can I soothe my super dry skin that is getting eczema?
i had the same exact problem, here is what i did:

    1. Take more baths

    2. Put Vic's, or vaseline on the eczema parts

    3. Put baby oil or baby lotion on your dry skin

    4. It helps if you take a damp cloth and put some baby oil on it and

    gently rub your skin.

also, try very hard not to scratch or rub your eczema, trust me it only makes it allot worse... and if you take more baths it helps some because it soaks your skin, and when you take showers it is a little rough on your skin, so i hope i helped and every time your skin burns or itches don't rub it, put baby oil or baby lotion on it :DHow can I soothe my super dry skin that is getting eczema?
Try cocoa butter gel made by Vaseline (CVS also makes a generic brand which is about $1.50 less a bottle)

It is clear/light brown - and works very well.

Try using a lufa with it - it locks in moisture.

When you dry off from the shower use a good lotion with pure/natural things -Lubriderm has a cocoa/shea butter which is good.

    Drink more water

    take vitamins
I treated my eczema with herbal remedies from serenaskin.com. Cream and spray cleared the skin and now I just take anti-eczema extract to prevent future flare-ups. It works very well for my condition! Worth a try.
    Hi,

Try coca butter, or this stuff called bio oil.. its really good for like stretch marks, skin pigmentation, dry skin, its like an oil but it soaks in, it leaves my skin really really smooth.

its releases bad tension and energy from your soul when you have that kind of pain/pressure on your body, especially doing it yourself. it's alot like crying, doing yoga, or meditating Report Abuse

cutting is in england as well. it originated here and started from people suffering from multiple personality disorders as a way to ';hurt the host.'; or ';kill the body.'; then, it turned into a fad, and people just found that...it works.

    she is still cutting herself

i love her i truly do...

and i started doing it a long time ago.. in 9th grade... but i stopped..

i did that cuz i wanted to see how it was.. i wanted to take the pain away from her heart....

you can see ppl cutting there hands on tv... there are lots of sites were teenagers look and they just try it and then they associate it with the pain from their heart... they take revenge on themselves... but the pain doesn't go away is there in your heart.... trust me i know.. ;)

I did a little of that sort of thing when I was much younger. I think its because any sensation is better than no sensation. Chronic depression is like being dead, but your body doesn't know it. Hurting yourself, reassures you that you're still alive.
Okay, it did not necessarily originate in the United States, believe it or not. And it doesn't only exsist there either, that's a really ignorant thing to say. I don't understand how it helps anybody in the slightest, that doesn't mean i don't have my own problems because believe me i do, it just gives you more pain.
I cannot, nor do I believe anyone can definetly say when this very first originated. Before I say this I want to say that I am not saying that you are demon possessed, but the first case I've heard of was the demon possessed boy in the Bible whos father brought him to Jesus to be delivered of demon posession. He cut himself and threw himself into the fire. I doubt that this is only an American problem. God bless!!
Dont know but i need to ask you something. Why do u do it? cutting your wrists aint going make tommorrow a better day no matter how emotionally stressed you are. It might be a temporary relief but you have to think about the long term and more importantly your health.

Asking this question and considering to consult a psychologist means your smart so please stop doing it and go by other means to relieve stress. Get some hobbies, take on martial arts what ever.

How lond does it take for your skin to heal after dermabrasion?
The procedure is very painful and usually requires a general anaesthetic or twilight anaesthesia, in which the patient is still partly conscious Afterward, the skin is very red and raw-looking, and it takes several months for the skin to regrow and heal. Dermabrasion is useful for scar removal when the scar is raised above the surrounding skin, but is less effective with sunken scars.

    Alpha hydroxy acids r also called AHAs. (they are natural fruit acids...) They help to get ridda wrinkles by removing dead skin cells on your epidermis (outer layer 'o skin). They also help remove acne %26amp; smooth and tone your skin. in addition to that, just as u said they speed cellular renewal, or stimulate new cell production (growing new skin cells --new skin cells mean smoother skin--). AHAs also moisturize your skin by absorbing moisture from the air and adding it to your skin. As for healing scars, AHAs exfoliate your skin, which decreases the appearance of acne scars and such.... They can be useful in promoting smoother, even-toned skin and may reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines in some individuals.';

I have really oily skin too. I've used cleansers for oily skin, and lotions said to prevent oil, etc. Nothing worked, but I bought a more expensive foundation the other day (usually I get Neutrogena) and I bought Estee Lauder foundation and it doesn't completely stop my skin from getting oily, but it definitely helps, and even if I have some oil on my face now, for some reason it is not noticeable when I wear this makeup! I'm about to go to the store and I want to know what skin care products work best for oily skin.

Around my mouth my skin is very dry, though, so if you know of a good moisturizer that would be great too. What is the best skin care products for oily skin?
Ok... I know it sounds weird... but here is my routine...

I went out and bought a cleanser that advertises that it ';fights oil.'; I find that alot of products advertise that they ';won't dry you out'; and ';get rid of dead skin.'; But I guess oily skin isn't that common, because I need some SERIOUS help. Fortunately, I don't get too many breakouts or blemishes, I get so shiny during the day, that I can wipe my fingers across my forehead, and my fingers will be shiny! I've recently been doing something odd though... but it seems to be working,

At night before bed, I just use the cleanser that I bought (I buy a different one every time, to see which one I like - but my favorite so far is Biore's ';ICE CLEANSER'; or ';shine control'; - they're in green bottles with a pump on the top). I get dry around the mouth and corners of my nose too - I just rub some moisturizer ON THOSE AREAS. Moisturizer tends to make me even more oily, and I have read online many times, that it's best to only use a minimal amount, on areas that NEED it. I've been experimenting with an uncommon product lately though. Toothpaste. Just dab it on any blemishes you may have.

BUT in the daytime, like when getting ready for work (just ONCE a day)... I wash my face with toothpaste... I know, I can picture your face. It's weird. But I suggest that you try it at least once. Just rub it on, avoiding your eyes, and try to build up a lather. Then, without water, use a small amount of your face soap and wash it off. Rinse. It is the coolest feeling ever. It makes your skin feel GREAT. Don't do it too often though, because it can dry you out too much. But seriously, even if you don't pick this as best answer TRY IT TRY IT TRY IT. It's awesome.

I've had oily skin forever. And nothing helps me. Even things like toners and astringent seem to make it worse, and I dunno why! Lemme know if it works for you too! :)

As for makeup - powder is great to eliminate shine. Also, if when you go into a bathroom, check yourself in a mirror - if you see shine building up, simply press a paper towel up to your face. LOOK AT IT. It absorbs the oil right off of your skin. This works wonders. What is the best skin care products for oily skin?

How long does it usually take for skin to heal after a facial?

i guess that would depend on the skin type. my skin is pretty clear except for whiteheads around my nose. i rarely get pimples. the whiteheads aren't extremely visible or anything but i can see them and i know they're there so i want to get a facial and get all the dirty crap out of my skin. i was wondering how long it would take my skin to recooperate and look clear. cus i made an appointment for a facial on friday and school starts on monday and i want to look clear and healed by that time. thanks! How long does it usually take for skin to heal after a facial?

What should i do to protect my skin while running in the cold?

At this time of the year, it is very cold where i live. My face has been very dry and windburnt because i run in the cold. What can i do, (besides wear a mask) to protect my facial skin while i run and help restore it back to normal. I prefer doing something that is ';all natural.'; Are there any herbal remedies i could try? What should i do to protect my skin while running in the cold?
The best thing to do is make sure you are drinking at least 64 ounces of water a day to keep your skin hydrated. Also, make sure you are using a good facial moisturizer before you head out into the cold, use a gentle facial cleanser when bathing and make sure you moisturize every day after bathing as well. This will heal your skin in no time.

If worse comes to worse and you don't have sensitive skin, use petrolium jelly on your cheeks where your skin gets the driest, it will really help.

Other than that - I'd invest in a ski mask or wear a scarf when you run. Good luck! What should i do to protect my skin while running in the cold?
    Lots of moisturizer and sunblock.
Drink a lot of water and use a lot of lotion.

How to you reduce redness on your skin from a chemical like burn?

I put on some skin medication recently, and now it appears my skin is burned. My skin must be sensitive or damaged by it. Now it is red, but nothing serious. I have washed it off and its been 1 day, yet its still there. How do i get rid of this? How long will it be? How can i at least reduce the redness? How to you reduce redness on your skin from a chemical like burn?
The best treatment is to not put on anything you buy OTC. But a wonderful quick natural soothing healer is to massage with olive oil - the ones you buy at a supermarket - it quickly absorbs into skin and it doesn't leave skin oily. You do not need to wash off but simply apply some water and pat dry with tissues. You can expect results in a day or two.. This treatment is also a permanent cure for an array of skin conditions. My dog seems to have dry itchy skin looking for home remedy any ideas?

I have a jack russel and he has been itching alot lately. He doesnt have any sores or anything just itches and I'm looking for something I can do about it by using home remedies. My dog seems to have dry itchy skin looking for home remedy any ideas?
Start with making sure he's drinking enough. Dehydrated dogs get really dry skin. If it doesn't clear up I'd go to your vet as they are the best people to diagnose and treat it. good luckMy dog seems to have dry itchy skin looking for home remedy any ideas?
Bathe him with a soothing oatmeal bath. NOT an oatmeal dog shampoo though (there is a difference ;). Aveeno 100% Colloidal Oatmeal Bath is the best thing for this. It's actually for humans, so you can pick it up in the bath aisle at the supermarket or drugstore. It comes in a box of with about 8 packets. Make sure it's the 100% Colloidal Oatmeal!

Mix a packet or two in some warm water. If your dog is small enough to bathe in the sink that would be best, otherwise have him lay down in the tub. You want to get a decent mixture in the water. Then open another packet and mix a bit at a time with a cupful of water, pouring it slowly down his back/body. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes before rinsing him with warm water.

You might have to bathe him again within a few days, even 2 more times, if his skin is really bad.

Also start giving him fish oil pills. The omega-3s will really help condition his skin and coat so he can retain moisture. 2-3 pills daily will do fine, and you can get the ones sold for human use (the dog-specific ones are just more expensive).

Do NOT put any flea treatment on your dog OR wash him with shampoo or anything containing soap. This stuff will only further irritate his skin and dry him out even more.

Consider getting a humidifier. At my house we've all been battling dry skin since turning the heat up this winter. If you can't afford one, hang a wet towel on a doorknob in your room (leave the very ends of the towel dry so it doesn't drip). Overnight (or during the day) the moisture will evaporate into the air giving your doggy a little extra relief. You might even try hanging a few wet towels or cloths around, especially near his dog bed.

Keep the house clean and vacuumed to minimize dust and other irritants in the air. Also try washing his dog bed with a mild detergent, and be sure to use dryer sheets or fabric softeners to reduce static electricity in the fabric. Just be sure that the products you use are not too irritating (meaning too much fragrance or chemicals).
    Hi :-)

I'm not sure what the climate is where you live, but if you are in Summer, or the warmer months, your dog probably has an allergy, or hypersensitivity. It may look like he has fleas when in fact he doesnt, but if a flea, or some other insect, say an ant, has bitten him, it ends up in either dry flaky skin, or in worse cases, red, moist welts.

I would suggest not treating him for fleas as often... but do treat his surrounds. A pyrethrin (sp?) spray is a great way to go and concentrated versions can be purchased from your vet which you then dilute with water and put in a spray pack. Concentrate on any areas of your yard that are very dry, Because Jack Russels are terriers and often love to dig, you will often find your dog naturally seeking the dryest areas of your yard, and that's where the nasties often live, too! You can also spray the dog with a fine mist... but BEWARE... keep it well away from any feline friends you might have!

Dogs need natural oils in their coats to protect their skin and fur. Too many baths too often strips these oils. I know it is hard if you have an inside doggy and those doggy smells become hard to put up with, but as an alternative to baths, try a dry shampoo, or doggy cologne. They do actually work quite well.

Lastly, try an Omega Blend Oil in his dinner. I dont have a ';home'; remedy, but these oils are available in most pet shops and contain varying amounts of safflower oil, flaxseed oil , sunflower oil, cod liver oil,

evening primrose oil, wheat germ oil with additional vit E depending on the brand.

    Hope this helps!
you can try adding fish oil, preferably salmon oil to your dogs food. but what you should be concerned about is your dog being allergic to his food, take a look at the ingredients, you want to make sure that the food has no corn, by-product, wheat and or soy. you should see that the first ingredient in your dogs food is meat.

    hope this helps.
Diet can have a lot to do with that. What are you feeding him?

If corn or wheat show up in any form in the first 5 ingredience of your dogfood, switch to something that doesn't have corn or wheat. If price is no issue, Solid Gold or Innova are great dogfoods. If those are just way too expensive, you can go for nutro naturals, they have a ';sensitive skin'; formula that works well.
If you use one tablespoon baby oil and one tablespoon water brushed into the fur with a soft brush then wipe dog down with a damp (not wet) towel to remove excess.

If you add one tablespoon origin Listerine to the same recipe it is good for hot spots where dog has scratched up a sore.
I have 3 Rat/Fox Terriers dogs and they would itch all the time too. I found out that the shampoo I used was to strong for there skin. So, now all I use is baby shampoo and they don't have that problem anymore. Plus, they smell so good!
He has developed an allergy. Have you changed his food lately? You can waste lots of money on home remedies but until you find the cause you will not cure him.

Never use human shampoo on a dog!!! There are plenty wonderful dog shampoos made especially for them, not us. Mellaluca oil shampoo is a great dog shampoo.
You might try a better quality food. Dog foods with grain fillers often result in itchy skin.

What can I do to stop my skin from becoming so oily and shiny?

I wash my face in the shower every morning, and after my skin is normal and not oily. During the day my skin get oilier and oilier and very shiny. What can I do to prevent this? What can I do to stop my skin from becoming so oily and shiny?
Carry some oil blotters with you, and throughout the day you can just dab at your face and they'll soak up all the oil. It works wonders for me! If you feel weird sitting there soaking up your oil with people around you, just go to the bathroom and do it in the mirror. Also, I find it helps me to dust a little bit of talcum powder on my face to have a very soft matte look before I go out for the day. Just use a powder brush and very lightly dust some over your shiny areas. A little bit will erase your shine completely. This won't stop the shine for the whole day, but it will be effective for a few hours and reduce the amount of shine. What can I do to stop my skin from becoming so oily and shiny?
Go to belk and talk to the ladies at the clinque counter. They can solve all of your problems. Trust me. If you don't want to do that see if you can get things that are fragrance free, and don't touch your face, because of the oil from your hands, and the stuff that you are washing your face with can actually make you produce more oil.
Oily skin could be due to the incorrect usage of wrong facial products for your skin type.

I have some facial products from the combination of Japan and France Technology. The facial products has 4 Nos, namely No Sodium Laureth Sulfate (which will cause cancer), No Animal Derivatives, No Chemical derivatives, No Chemical Fragrances (that will cause sensitive skin).

  • What shade of blonde compliments a fair skin tone the best?

I have reddish brown hair and pale skin. I want to lighten up to blonde for the spring. I am afraid that my hair will turn orange or yellow. Any suggestions on what shade would be best? What shade of blonde compliments a fair skin tone the best?
Dye it either a light ashy blond or a more caramel-y colour, just DON'T dye it white or you'll end up looking really washed out and weird. What shade of blonde compliments a fair skin tone the best?
A cool, ashy tone would be best for fair skin. Since your natural hair is reddish you are more prone to having your hair turn yellow or orange when bleached, so I would recommend doing it gradually as opposed to all at once. You have to have it done professionally too, only natural blondes can go lighter at home.
    whatever shade mine is :)

green. your eyes might look a grey(ish) color and its more unique because every brown skin person keeps wearing hazel its too common.

What does a facial do for the skin and is it beneficial for everyone?

I have sensitive skin, but would like to treat myself to a facial. Is this recommended even though I have sensitive skin and have never had a facial before? What types of things does a facial entail? What does a facial do for the skin and is it beneficial for everyone?
Yes you would be a perfect candidate for a facial. A facial cleanses the skin, removes dead skin cells and deeply hydrates the skin, it helps to regulate sebum production and increases blood flow etc. It is very beneficial. A regular Deep Cleansing Facial (1 hour) consists of the following:

    *Cleansing of your skin, twice

*Skin examined under a magnifiying lamp to work out which products would be best to use on you

    *Exfoliate with steam

*20 minute face neck and decolletage massage

    *15 minute mask

    * Serum, eye, neck and day cream applied.

The above can vary slightly depending on the line of products which the salon uses and the therapists techniques.

Often sensitive skin can be very dry so it is recommended to have a facial- not may people have true sensitive skin (in Beauty Therapist terms) but have slight sensitivities to various products. Still ensure that you tell the therapist that you have sensitive skin, to prevent any breakouts and to make sure that the correct products are used. Make sure that they only use a non abrasive exfoliant on you - preferably a Gommage or Bio Peel where they do not need to rub in or use any friction on your skin. I would recommend either going to a salon which uses natural products or going to one which uses a trusted brand such as ';Sothys'; as they have great senstive product lines.

**Once you have one facial you will become addicted :)What does a facial do for the skin and is it beneficial for everyone?
A facial generally consist of exfoliating the dead skin cells away, deep cleaning of the pores for any blackheads, solution to resurface %26amp; even out skin tone (which may be the exfoliant product), %26amp; then moisturizing. It is always beneficial to keep up a good skin care regimen which should consist of using products on a regular basis at home to improve skin %26amp; keep it looking fresh. If you are having a professional facial, when you speak to the Salons, ask them what they offer for persons with sensitive skin %26amp; discuss your options.
My sister does skincare. She has lots of clients that come in of all ages that have sensitive skin or acne. Facials are great for everyone. She even has lots of men that are clients. They can do so many different treatments for different skin types and problems. All make your skin feel great. Usually with a facial, they will give you some sort of mask and a neck and upper back massage. They can also do extractions to remove blackheads and other bumps. Try it!
I will give you advice without trying to sell you any products. From experience with VERY sensitive skin, i use what a dermatologist recommended; Cetaphil... you can get it in your groc. store or Walmart. It costs about nine something for a 16 Oz. bottle that last me a couple months with two people using it twice a day. Most products saying they are for sensitive skin will have a small amount of fragrance in them. You DO NOT want fragrance in your skin care products (even in small amounts) if you have sensitive skin. A facial will help keep your skin clean and your pores small.
Yes u can undergo facial...Just tell the aesthetician or dermatologist that u have sensitive skin b4 they do anything to your skin...

Facial consist of different steps, the higher the price of the facial the more complicated the procedures. But generally, they just clean your face, moisturize it, exfoliate it ( not necessarily in order) and it depends on how perfect your skin is.

What foundation is best for acne prone skin?

I want something that will cover the scars and discoloration from acne, but I do not want something that will make it worse. I don't like powder foundation, I would prefer a cream or liquid.

Any suggestions? What foundation is best for acne prone skin?
    Hi,

It seems you and me are on the same boat. I have tried several products like proactiv and had almost given up on acne. Now I am using Acnezine and the results so far are very good. Its helping me to get rid of pimples and scars. Was lucky enough to get free samples so an all win situation for me....btw I did pay just the shipping price.

This is the website I think I got my free samples from - http://www.getfreebs.com/free-samples-of…

Have you tried tinted moisturizer? Even with acne, you still need moisturizer. I don't think foundation is the way to go to cover scars or discoloration. Use that first and spot treat the rest. You don't like powder, but I swear by that mineral powder stuff. There are a few brands but the best has the finest powder and I can't remember which. You brush it on lightly with a fat brush and it buffs it all away. Use a smaller brush to wipe the excess around your eyes and nose. With concealer, be sure it's not lighter than your skin.
Acne affects people of all ages and all races, and treating it is a slow process that requires diligence and patience. Here are some tips to help you get started.

You Will NeedA gentle facial cleanser

    Warm water

    A towel

    Topical acne medication

    Sunscreen

    Patience

    A tissue

    Noncomedogenic cosmetics

    Shaving cream with benzoyl peroxide

    A dermatologist

    Prescription acne medicine

    Clorox Disinfecting Wipes

    Step 1:

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and warm water when you wake up in the morning and at night just before bed.

Don’t use harsh scrubs on acne—it will only irritate and inflame the acne.

    Step 2:

Gently pat your face dry with a towel—don’t rub, or you can extract too much moisture from your face.

Be careful not to wash your face too much, which can irritate your skin. If you have oily skin, try blotting it with a clean tissue instead.

    Step 3:

Apply a topical acne medication, either one prescribed by your dermatologist or an over-the-counter cream, lotion, or gel containing benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.

Benzoyl peroxide reduces a certain kind of bacteria on the skin and salicylic acid helps unclog pores by correcting abnormal skin cell shedding, so one might work better for you than the other.

    Step 4:

Use Clorox Disinfecting Wipes and clean your face. This wipes all the dirt off your face/chest/back. This will get rid of the redness of pimples and lower the size.

    Step 5:

Protect your skin with a non-comedogenic sunscreen and avoid excess exposure to sunlight. This is always important, but it is especially critical when you’re using topical or internal acne medication, which increases skin’s photosensitivity.

    Step 6:

Use only non-comedogenic, water-based cosmetics that are oil-free. There are moisturizers and makeup formulated for acne-prone skin.

    Step 7:

If you shave, do so carefully and sparingly. Shaving can easily irritate sensitive skin, so only shave when it is necessary and only in one direction.

Some shaving creams on the market contain benzoyl peroxide, so check the label.

    Step 8:

Don’t squeeze, pop, or pinch acne. It can cause further inflammation and even permanent scarring.

    Step 9:

Avoid actions that cause repetitive or prolonged contact with the affected area, like holding a phone against your face, wearing sports equipment, or resting your chin on your hand.

    Step 10:

Keep your hair clean and out of your face. The natural oils in hair can contribute to acne, as can hair products that contain oil.

    Step 11:

If you take proper care of your skin but you still have outbreaks, schedule an appointment with a dermatologist. There are different types of acne that may require different approaches in treatment.

    Step 12:

If you’re under a dermatologist’s care, follow his or her instructions carefully. If you’re prescribed an oral medication, take it regularly.

    Step 13:

Be patient! Fighting acne is a slow process, and there is no quick fix or immediate cure. But sooner or later you’ll win the battle—and your skin will thank you for it.

Acne is one of the most common skin afflictions in the U.S., and 95% of those affected first suffer from it in their teens.

What is the best over the counter skin cleansing product?

I have many small bumps on my face, but most are the same color as my skin, which appear all over my face There are other small bumps that are light on top, but appear around my eyes. I also have some reddish pimples.

What over the counter products, or remedies, can I use to clear up my face, and what products can I use to maintain a clean and clear face? What is the best over the counter skin cleansing product?
Exfoliating helps out a lot if you're breaking out. I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub, myself. It works for me. Use noxzema right after you do that. Aveeno lotion is a good lotion to use because it doesn't make your face greasy. It is important to use lotion, though. Take hot showers as well to open your pores up (not too hot). Switch to cold to close the pores up again and prevent dirt from going in.What is the best over the counter skin cleansing product?
well i never could afford products so i used a home remedy of salt. every day in the shower you dry your hands and scrub the salt on your face. it exfoliats it and everything...makes it very smoothe you can also do this to your knees and elbows.

What are the common causes of cracked skin on the heels?

Lately the skin on my heels (both feet) has been cracking, some of the cracks going quite deep and hurting to walk on. I've been taking care to keep my feet dry and warm but this doesn't seem to have alleviated the problem. Anyone know what could be causing it? Will a daily application of E45 cream likely do the trick? What are the common causes of cracked skin on the heels?
Soak your feet and pumice them, then smother with E45 wrap in cling film and put socks over, do it before you go to bed and in the morning your feet will be lovely and smooth. Trust me this really worksWhat are the common causes of cracked skin on the heels?
I'm not a expert but it's either from lack of moisture or infection.

I have really sweaty feet compared to everyone else around me and I've had nothing wrong with my feet but the smell.

I think if you keep it moisturized but don't let it dry over a long period of time because it might make it worse then i should heal away.

In the mean time I recommend wearing lots of socks for the pain and keepign sweat

    hope this has been helpful
Yes, it's painful. Skin dries out as you get older and I started to notice this problem from about 45 onwards. I use Scholl Heel Repair cream which is very effective, but now I make sure I keep my feel well moisturised when going to bed each night. If the cracks are open and deep use some germolene to take the pain away - stings at first but works wonders within half an hour!
it can be caused by many things, dryness, heat, as someone mentioned the shower...if not washed frequently..and so on.

the cream will help yes...if you have aloe or vit e that will help too and help heal the sore cracks...when you put the cream on and or the aloe or vit e .. put some socks on...to keep the moisture in...do this everyday....at start of day and bedtime...it should ease up....
    vaseline will do the job.

but also, its because it's lacking air and moisture, so use a foot stone to remove the dry skin, apply some vaseline each night before you go to bed, and walk bare feet as much as you can.

it from walking on hot ground. somtimes it can be ages b4 the results come but they do. do not moursturise the skin because it will cause more pain
    http://www.ourhealthnetwork.com/conditio…
athletes foot, if multiple people use the same shower as you, you may want to invest in a pair of shower sandals.
rub some baby oil on them and wear socks till they heal.. i used elmers glue on my cracked heels.. and that helped right away.. cool down feeling : )
A little bit of vaseline each evening.

It's just too much walking, that's all.

You don't... you be happy with your heritage.
eww DONT LOOK LIKE michel jackson
It's 2009 not 1809. Please ask yourself why you feel that the skin you have needs to be changed. I know that people lighten their hair and wear contacts to change their eye color but those changes are temporary and trying to keep them up is very high maintenance. Your skin is largest organ on your body. I am sure there must be negative physical and psychological impacts to applying something to your whole body that would fade your skin.

I am Black and I am very aware of the challenges and issues one faces when they have skin that is darker than the dominant cultures skin. However, I love the skin I am in and wouldn't change it for anything.

Ive had skin hives for 8 weeks straight. Ive tried 2 different allergy meds prescribed, but i still get them. I changed laundry detergent to the Unscented/allergy free kind but nothing works. Any suggestions? How can i get rid of my skin allergy?
    CHANGE almost everything.

    Bedsheets, for example.

Wash everything in really hot water.

Switch to cotton sheets and clothing. Give up perfume and any kind of soap or body lotion that isn't specifically for your allergies.

Start keeping records of what you touch and use - and when the hives are worse.

Hey, you can try fish oil pills or drops in her food once or twice a day. You can find them at grocery stores or the drug store, pretty cheap. i guess just get a good shampoo for dry skin, and your supposed to bathe them like every 6-12 months. My cat had dry skin too, it could just be because of the weather and things like that, she still gets dry skin when the seasons change. :-]
Go to petco and ask a few questions...

U'll probly hav to bathe her though .... She won't like it, but it will help for sure with a good oatmeal animal shampoo.
What are you feeding her? She may be allergic to the food you are giving her.

Is it necessary to exfoliate your skin every time before applying tanning lotion?

today is the first time i use a tanning lotion, Neutrogena Build-a-Tan. so i wash up really well with a body soap that exfoliates..

but im wondering is it necessary to do that every time before you apply tanning lotion?

because im planning on applying it everyday before bed..

do i have to exfoliate or just use normal soap to wash up from now on?Is it necessary to exfoliate your skin every time before applying tanning lotion?
Exfoliate once a week to remove any extra dead skin. Do not over exfoliate or you will not keep a tan of any kind because you are rubbing off too many new skin cells. Let the lotion dry completely before going to bed or you will be splotchy. do not use bar soap either, it leaves a residue on your skin that will prevent the tanning lotion from getting deep into your skin!!

How do I get really soft skin for the face?

Right now, I bumpy skin. I've tried a lot of different products but none seem to work. They just irritate my skin even more and makes my skin burn/red. What do you suggest I do to get super soft skin? How do I get really soft skin for the face?
I HAD the same problem. Thankfully, I've sorted it out.

Detox your skin of product for a couple of days %26amp; let it breathe and resjust.

Wash your skin with a cream cleanser (Origins %26amp; Clinique do nice ones or go for a natural one like Decleor, as your skin is sensitive, a more natural one may be better. I like Liz Earles Hot Polish cleanser). THEN remove your cream cleanser with a muslin cloth (or flannel) rinsed in hot water. This will gently exfoliate your skin.

Get a good tube exfoliatior. I use Clarins Gentle Peeling (it really isn't as bad as it sounds!) but you can make a simple one with Salt %26amp; some almond oil, however cus salt can dry you, stick on a moisturiser straight after!! You could use sugar but I find it's too harsh on my face. Do this when you feel your skin needs an extra hand (I use it like once a fortnight if that now).

After using a tube exfoliatior, I would make a face mask for my skin to soothe it :) You can make ones out of yoghurt.

Also, look at your diet. I find that citrus fruits %26amp; tomato causes blotches and bumpiness in my skin.

Avoid products with alcohol in as this will dry your skin!

Hope this helps xxHow do I get really soft skin for the face?
    This is my skin routine:

Cleanser: Basis....this is just a bar of soap that matches your pH level of your skin....so it wont dry out your face(if you don't use moisturizer though of coarse it will)

Toner: Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner...really any toner you prefer is ok...but this it the one i use. Start from the top of your face and go towards the temples...aslo with cheeks...go towards the temples...then on chin go in circular motions only(not making it up...this is what you are supposed to do whenever applying anything to your face)

Moisturizer : Sheer Cover Oil Free Moisturizer...again any moisturizer will be good...just as long as it is oil free, made for the face, does not have any acne fighting agents in it. Dot it all over face then apply just like i said with the toner.

Facial scrub: Oatmeal and Sugar....seriously...this is the BEST scrub i have ever had....just take oatmeal and grind it into a powder and the add Sugar( more Sugar if you want more of a scrub...less if you just want something soothing) then add a little water and make like a paste( not too thick and not too thin) Rub on your face for like 3 minutes then rinse with warm water...put moisturizer on right afterward and your face will feel so refreshed and soft!!!!! Do it about once a week. Dont rub too hard or you will damage face.

I suffer a little more from dry skin...but yet it can get oily at times...but with this routine has been great....and now i don't have a single blemish or patch of dry skin!!!!! It is amazing!!!!!
    My routine:

2 x a day: Cetaphil face wash, witch hazel, Cetaphil face lotion (day), Olay night effects (night)

3 nights a week I do an aspirin mask (with honey) and use the grains as a scrub afterwards. After the aspirin mask, I use witch hazel and my night time moisturizer.
I think this might help. It's advice on how to get soft skin on your whole body:

How can I clear up my skin after proactive outbreak?

I used Proactive for about a month last summer; however, my face broke out worse than before I started the program. I work outside and I believe the extreme heat had something to do with it... Now my face which had minor blemishes is covered with little bumps and way more blemishes than I could count. If anyone has any solution that could help clear my face please respond as I am in desperate need!!! I immediately stopped the use of proactive products. How can I clear up my skin after proactive outbreak?
Since proactive has a lot of harsh chemicals that usually has a bad reaction to peoples skin (like yours) I would invest in some really mild natural ingredient soaps. Anything from burts bees is good, try their face soaps/scrubs and try to buy a toner/astrigent, Neutrogena makes great ones. also try not to over moisturize, your skin won't like going through the drastic changes, unless your skin is very very dry naturally. Also if you dont see much improvement within a couple weeks, try buying a spot or night acne cream that you can put on before you go to bed. hope this helped. How can I clear up my skin after proactive outbreak?
