I got my molar teeth moved, and some of the skin has came closer and almost covered my removed molar teeth, but how long does it take to fully cover it?

If the edges of the socket are approximated closely and you form a good clot in the socket it can be covered in a month or less quite well. This is called healing by primary intention.


If the edges are not approximated well and a no clot (dry socket) or a poor clot forms it may be a couple of months before the skin covers the remaining socket. This can be an example of healing by secondary intention.


Oral tissue is incredible in its ability to heal quickly in the absence of infection.
