Why do so many skin specialist feel that mineral oil is terrible for the skin on your face?

I've often heard that facial moisturizers that contain mineral oil are terrible for the skin on your face, why is that? Why do so many skin specialist feel that mineral oil is terrible for the skin on your face?
Mineral oil is bad for any part of your skin. Don't use baby oil, Chapstick or anything that contains mineral oil or petroleum jelly. The reasons are many including clogging pores, being carcinogenic, and being acidic. Think about this: its a by-product of when crude oil (sucked up from the ground) is processed. It's gross. You don't want this on your skin, on your lips, near your eyes, or people even drink it as a laxative-- yuck.

There is much debate about mineral oil, but for me it comes down to basically putting motor oil on your body. If you're not sold on the harmful medical benefits, just think that you are contributing to the world's dependence on oil.Why do so many skin specialist feel that mineral oil is terrible for the skin on your face?
i was told that it clogs pores HORRIBLY and makes it harder for any acne medication to actually get down to the area in the pore that has all the bacteria and nasties that cause pimples

thats what my dermatologist told me when i had a random and severe breakout... she said my lotion contained mineral oil and that it had blocked my pores =(
Mineral oils aren't water soluble. They just sit on top of your skin and clog your pores, leading to acne or inflammation.
